MOVEMENT PRINCIPLES: Movement Principles is the pre-requisite for any Balanced Body training. This module provides a solid foundation for training in any environment, with any equipment. These simple movements and pre-Pilates exercises are built upon in all other Balanced Body modules. A focus on understanding common movement patterns prepares instructors to be excellent at problem solving, goal setting and learning new exercise techniques with ease.

Program Includes

  • General discussion and overview of anatomy including bones and joints in relation to movement.
  • Learning Pre-Pilates repertoire, these foundational exercises form the underlying concepts to all the Pilates work.
  • Cueing, coaching and teaching tips
  • Learning to read the body in front of you 
  • Developing meaningful verbal and tactile cue
  • A detailed, full colour manual

The foundation of our education program, Movement Principles shows how to recognise, improve and teach fundamental movement.

This course is designed for both new and experienced instructors to refine their understanding of the body in motion. It provides the foundational knowledge necessary for you to understand fundamental movement and become a truly transformative instructor. Movement Principles is a program requirement for all Balanced Body Pilates Instructor Training.
